Leave No Trace
The Balinese make daily offerings to the spirits. The intricate and well-crafted offerings are made of bamboo reed, banana leaves, fruits, cooked rice, flowers, incense, and other organic materials. They are placed in front of shrines, homes, businesses, and fields. Birds and the occasional lucky rooster or dog typically eat the fruits and rice. The afternoon rains typically washes them away into the street drains or irrigation ditches in the field.
