Design an e-commerce store for a athletic apparel and equipment distributor.
First, the product needed to display accurate inventory levels both internally and externally. Second, the search and browse experience needed a complete overhaul. Third, the account management features had to be re-designed and -built.
The goal was a 30% increase in sales and user engagement metrics.
The team collaboratively wrote a clear 1 page product brief, and started with an analysis of the current system architecture. We compiled personas, and wrote out scenarios of the product’s key customers. Next, we sketched core use cases and interactions, and created information architecture schematics and user facing wireframes to illustrate the product’s requirements. We also implemented site performance milestones to be tracked on a weekly basis to define the ongoing product backlog.
