Let’s build thriving, equitable, and resilient communities.
I’m a product and design leader who specializes in building software development teams. I have expertise in leading the product research, definition, design, prototyping, and engineering process. I enjoy working on urban systems, including planning, land use, economic development, real estate development, transportation, and public health.
I co-founded and led the Center for Product Development at Child Mind Institute. The Center supports the Science team’s mission to accelerate the pace of innovation and discovery in mental health and learning, and is supported by several public health initiatives. We built a cross-functional product development team of 100+ researchers, engineers, data scientists, designers, and marketers that is focused on developing accessible digital solutions to scale mental health care and research globally, making it easier for people to access the care they need.
I co-founded and was CEO of Neighborland, a communications platform that empowered government agencies, real estate developers, and civic organizations to collaborate with the public in an accessible, participatory, and equitable way. As a social enterprise, Neighborland worked with over 200 government agencies, universities, foundations, and nonprofits across the U.S. and Canada from 2012-2023. Over 3 million residents participated on Neighborland, and these projects have yielded over $700 billion in social and economic impact to date.
Neighborland was acquired by Nextdoor in September of 2019, and I led the Public Agency team as a General Manager and Head of Product from 2019-2021. I then worked on our broader strategy for organizations (government agencies, civic organizations, and small businesses), and led a research and development initiative focused on content creators. I reported to the Chief Product Officer, and worked closely with the C-suite as one of the business pillar leads.
I have served as an advisor on civic engagement technology for the Obama Foundation and Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities. I have also mentored government technology startups at Matter, Hangar, and Code for America.
I have spoken about civic engagement technology at the White House, Smart Cities World Congress, American Institute of Architects, Stanford University Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society, University of California Berkeley College of Environmental Design, University of North Carolina, and SPUR.
From 2006-9, I was a Director of User Experience at Yahoo, working for the Marketplaces and Advertising Platform teams where I led product design teams across offices in Silicon Valley, New York, and Los Angeles. From 2003-6, I was a Creative Director at Time Warner, leading product and design for the platform which served over 125M daily active members at the time.
